    PRESS: SKUSA PRO TOUR READIES FOR LAUNCH AT SPRINGNATIONALS

    This year’s Superkarts! USA Pro Tour is fast becoming one of the bright spots of American karting for 2011, as our sport is now rebounding from being hard hit by the recent economic recession. Despite the continuing issues with the national economy, karting is certainly fighting back as entry numbers in the primary regional series have been extremely encouraging, and SKUSA is part of this recovery. There is positive momentum building all over the country and SKUSA’s West Coast-centric ‘Pro Tour’ is enjoying significant buzz regarding good fields in virtually all of its classes. The opening round of the SKUSA Pro Tour – the Honda Racing/HPD SpringNationals in Tucson, AZ – is now less than a week away and the research performed by the EKN staff shows that this program will see significant growth for 2011. The inaugural Pro Tour launched last spring at Infineon Raceway with just over 100 participants and the forecasted numbers for this year’s opener are north of 170.

    The 2011 SKUSA Pro Tour will consist of three events, anchored by the granddaddy of them all, the SuperNationals in Las Vegas in November. The season kicks off on the April 29 – May 1 weekend in Tucson, Arizona for the second running of the SpringNationals. As recently announced on EKN, Honda Racing and Honda Performance Development (HPD) have signed on as the title sponsor for the event, helping to raise the bar for an event that SKUSA’s Tom Kutscher is aimed at making into a “mini SuperNats”.

    WaltersMotorsports.com Full Rebuild Before Stars of Karting Event

    (St. Louis, MO) It has been almost a year since Walters Motorsports has come to the track in full force with both drivers on hand. However, after a few days of testing and uncountable shop hours invested, both Shane and Evan Walters are ready to take to the track again. To add to the big news for the team just a few days before the big event at New Castle Motorsports Park the team has released the brand new team website www.WaltersMotorsports.com.

    The new website is a huge improvement from the previous website top to bottom. While the site still isn’t completely finished we were still able to implement many of the large improvements we wanted to in the very short time frame we had to work with. As always over the new few weeks the new website will be tuned and improved so we have no set the bar just yet.

    PRESS: Champion Racing/INTREPID 2007 Driver List Announced

    (Norman, OK) Champion Racing in Norman, Oklahoma at the Oklahoma Motorsports Complex is back again for the 2007 karting season as the sole North America importer for Intrepid Kart Technology. This year, however, they are doing things a little differently than in the past years. There are now Intrepid distribution areas through separate dealers across North America. The reason behind this change is so that Champion Racing can better serve their customers. Champion Racing attends all the major races, but with these new distribution areas it will help Intrepid grow even more rapidly and meet their customer’s needs more efficiently. There are only two distribution areas left to fill for the 2007 season.

    Another change to the 2007 karting season is that Leading Edge Motorsports is teaming up with Intrepid in order to oversee operations. Greg Bell from Leading Edge Motorsports and Rodney Berryhill will be supervising the mechanics and mechanic work within team Intrepid. Brett Berryhill will be in charge of managing engines. Together they will supervise the entire Intrepid team in all their different operations.

    PRESS: Evan Walters On Speed Channel January 4th From New Castle, IN

    (St. Louis, MO) This Thursday January 4th (Tomorrow) Walters Mototsports will be jumping into your living room from New Castle, IN. The race will be televised on the Speed Channer (www.SpeedTv.com). This is the STARS of Karting race hosted May 19th – 21st of the 2006 racing season. The will be showing the ICA class and the JICA class. Evan will be driving the black and orange Caribbean Creme #399.

    The Stars of Karting Series is the top karting series in North America. It has already had many races hoested on TV from both the Speed Channel and the VS network. The series brings drivers from all over the country and as you watch the broadcast you will constantly hear names that are familiar to you. Many IRL drivers, Indy drivers, F1 drivers, and many other forms of out racing has had drivers come out of this series in just the past few years. A few of the drivers you should know if you are in any kind of racing are Danica Patrick who currently races in the Indy Car Series and another is Scott Speed who as of right now is the only US driver on the F1 circuit driving for team Red Bull.
